Toffees manager Roberto Martinez worked wonders off the field to sign winger Aiden Mcgeadi from the Russian side of Spartak Moscow for an undisclosed fee. The winger’s signing was confirmed in Saturday’s match between Everton and Norvich.revealed at half-time outside the crowded Goodison Park.
Roberto had a lot of interest in the Winger during the summer window, but no approach was made and instead young Spanish winger Gerard Deulofeu was loaned out for a season. This signing came after the young Spaniard tore off part of his thighs; it forced him to stay on the sidelines for the next month.
Martinez is now relieved after Aiden signed, unaware he would sign him this Summer. There was a lot of speculation that Mcgead would not move to Goodison until the next summer window, as his contract with Spartak Moscow would expire during this period.
But thanks for the excellent transfer budget after the departures of Victor Anichebe and Marouane Fellaini; both arrive at West Brom and Manchester United for a transfer fee above the stated price and excellent support from the Board; the signing could be completed in this window and Martinez is able to strengthen his squad for his recent push for a Champions League place in the second half of the season.
He won four Scottish Premier League titles, two Scottish League Cups and two Scottish Cups in his six years with Celtic. During his tenure, he was named Scottish Player of the Year in 2008, before joining Spartak Moscow in Russia two years after for 9.5 million pounds. During his four years with Spartak, he played 72 matches and scored 11 goals.
The move has now teamed up with Irish teammates Seamus Coleman and midfielders Giacomo mccartista and Darron Gibson.
In addition to the signing of the 27-year-old winger, Everton also achieved a comfortable 2-0 victory over the city wrestlers of Norvich, the goals came from Gareth Barrie and Kevin Mirallas. This kept them in the running for a Champions League place, a long-term goal for the Toffees after failing to reach fourth place for 9 seasons.

Martinez may want to look for other rude options, while Croatian forward Nikica Elavic is expected to switch from Steve Bruce to Hull City after Elavic is given permission to speak to the Tigers. Martinez saw this as a perfect opportunity for the Croatian striker to win a few games and have a further chance of retaining a place in the 2014 World Cup for Croatia. It comes after on-loan Belgian Romelu Lukaku consolidated his place in the team after scoring 8 goals since his move from Chelsea on the final day of the market.
This means that for Everton’s knockout match against Pepe Mels, Albion on Monday the 20th, Everton will be looking to get another win and keep hope of a fourth-place finish.
